Belt pully gear box for A

Just got a belt pully gear box. Thought I'd add one to my '41 "A". I have not pulled the blank cover off the tractor yet. Will I find the drive gear/shaft for the pulley gear box behind the cover? Or, will I have to get an additional gear/output shaft? The manual shows a gear meshing with the gear in the pulley gearbox.
