If the valves and seats were ground, the valve spring closed height will have increased. This is compensated for with a shim under the spring at the time of reassembly. Check for the shim. Signs of weak or improper closed height would be, popping and missing at high idle. If the problem is severe engough you may have misfiring at all RPM's. If you work carefully the springs can be removed with the head on the motor. Bring them to a machine shop and have them checked for Closed height pressure. And check the closed height measurement.
