Just depends on what works for you. I still use and sell a lot of Champion plugs but never run them in our road vehicles anymore. They seem to work well in some applications and not good at all in others. I have had just as many problems with AC, Autolite and others in the past. Sometimes I think it depends a lot on how the plugs are handled by the supplier and dealer. I once put a set of new AC plugs in a rebuilt Chevy 350 and couldn't get it to run. After checking everything else 2-3 times finally put the old plugs in and it started right up. That made me mad too and I didn't buy AC for probably 5 years and went to Autolite. Later I had problems with Autolite and went back to AC. Last year I was working on a customers lawn mower tractor and put in a new Champion J8C plug and stripped the threads in the head. Found out when removing the plug and checking my other box of new plugs that the threads were cut right on the new plugs causing this to happen. Opened another carton of plugs and found the threads were okay but had to stand taking the head off and using a thread insert to repair it and new head gasket. Sent the bad box of plugs back to champion and they just sent back the same number of new ones and claimed that nothing was wrong with the others I had sent back. Never bothered to pay what I was out fixing the head either. I didn't keep any of the bad plugs or contact a lawyer so what did they care. Still use some Champion plugs because they are easier to find and work okay but they are not my favorites. They and other plug companies don't make many of the older applications any more such as some of the older non-resistor plugs so we went to using Nippodenso non-resistor plugs in our natural gas irrigation motors and they outrun everything else 3-4 times over.

Today's Featured Article - The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac. ... [Read Article]
