$250 for a new head gasket!!!!!! Where did you get that one???? Heck I have some NOS ones for $45.... I have never seen a listing for the head torque on these engines. One bit of guidance is this:

M gas 110-115 ft lbs of torque uses 1/2" studs
W9 G&D 160-165 ft lbs of torque uses 9/16" Studs
T14 190-195 ft lbs of torque uses 5/8" Studs

Based on this set of info taken from the IH Blue Ribbon Service Training Course on engine valves from 1946, I personaly would use the W9 Gas & Diesel torque, but that decision is yours to make.
