IH 454 tractor

i am thinking about buying an ih 454 from a friend. but i noticed it was made in england.i need to know how to tell if it is a gray market tractor or not? is it normal to see an ih made in england? i have a ford 2000 made in england but i know it belongs here in the U.S. my dad bought it new in 1972. and also where are the sn#'s located on theIH454.any help with these questions will be greatly appreciated thank you all.......... vic
