I had the same thing when someone put stove fuel in the tank instead of gas.
As far as water or antifreeze. In most cases I have seen, once the water burns out of the cylinder, the white smoke will stop. Take the radiator cap off. If there are a lot of bubbles and foam in the radiator, then you do have a problem.
