How old are the fords? If it is a 9n,2n or 8n the serial number is located on a flat below the cyl head, mid way on the engine side (opposite side of engine from the manifold.) 9n and 2n serial numbers start with 9n***** and 8 n starts with 8n*****. 9n and 2n have a brake pedal each side where the 8 n has both brake pedals on the same side. Rear rims on the 9n and 2n have sort of a flat inner circle with a large bolt circle, where the 8 n has a dished inner circle(more like a car rim) and a small bolt circle. 9n and 2 n have 3 speed transmissions, 8n has 4 speed. 9n and 2n has a metal knob cast into the shift, 8n has a plastic(rubber?) knob. These are some basic differences that are easy to spot .
