Does your tractor have a magneto?? If you had the mag off or just the front part off to replace points, etc. you may have it 180 degrees out of time. To correct, take the front cover off (the one that give access to the points) and rotate the distributor rotor 1/2 turn and put it back on. If the time is out 180 degrees, it will blow air cleaner oil back out of the intake due to back fires.
