M WFE help

I am trying to widen the factory WFE on my M. One side about fell apart and was no problem. The other side is not so easy.

I have been soaking wirh PB Blaster for several months, no luck. Today I started heating and beating. 7 hours and full tanks of oxygen and acetelyne later I have moved it 2 3/4 inches. I need to go 4 total, but want to get the tube out and clean and lube everything so I do not have a repeat of this.

The only thing that would work for me was to get the outer tube hot and then spray water inside the inner tube and contract it a little and the pound the inner tube out until I could hear it seize in the outer.tube. All this heating and pounding can't be good for this old iron. Does any body have any words of wisdom for me. Thanks. Doc
