Scott: Valve setting on a 140 calles for .014 when the engine is hot (working temp) You may find the tractor runs a bit smoother with exhaust valves just a bit wider, .016 to .018 I set my 140 at .014 and noticed a bit of flutter in engine. I then noticed in the IT manual, C-123 calls for .014 both intake and axhaust and C-135 engine called for .014 intake and .020 exhaust. I adjusted my exhaust valves until this flutter disappeared. I now have exhaust valves at .018. Intake is still on .014.
