The stem seal is going to be hard to replace because the stem itself is bent to make a handle. The nut that holds the seal on won't make the corner unless I somehow straighten out the stem, which I am leery of trying to do without breaking it. I will make a new bowl gasket. Is there some sort of goop I can put on the various threads to help seal them off and still be able to unscrew them later? The gas line is copper tube and uses what look like standard ferrels. Can I get them at the hardware store as well?
