H Trans Fluid done

Last week I posted a message wondering why I only got a pint of choco milky trans fluid out of my H, several of you responded with great help and ideas.

I bought 6 gallons of diesel fuel, I only have a 6 gal can. Poured it in and had my son drive the tractor around the fields 3 times, in 1-4th gears, then I drove up and down the road in 5th 3 times. This whole time the PTO and belt pulley were running. I parked it and choco milky fluid drained out, but I only got about 6 1/2 gallons. I also found the right side bottom leaks from a crack that was fixed, obviously not well though. I then filled it with 6 gallons of 85-140, none drained out the full hole on the left side. We drove it again and it shifts better and I am sure it is much happier.

Don't know why I did not check this before but I guess I got lucky it did not break down. The H does not get used much, we have been lucky the last couple of years with small snow amounts, probably get hit hard this year since I am currently building a house, and will be moving in Dec. or January.

I also got the snow plow half put on, today it is snowing, but I doubt/hope I don't need to plow.
