If it's just slipping because of to little pressure, you can remove the small side cover and there is a large nut facing you that should be tightened to require ~30-40lbs of hand pressure to pull or push the lever. The nut will have a locking tab on it also. If it's not that, next likely problem could be the fibre discs getting their teeth chewed off. If so, they will need to be replaced.
