Joe, when the TA or low side of the TA is out it does not effect the high or direct gearing of your tractor. What happens when the low side of your TA fails is the ramp and roller over run clutches within the TA. The function of these ramp and rollers is to lock the TA planatery gear set from counter rotating and forcing the rotating force through the planatery gears. When your in the direct or high side both the main and the TA clutch is engaged and the entire TA planatery carrier rotates 1 to 1 with the engine.
