Marvin: Not many use track tractors but anything can't be worse than steel on ice. I found this out on a side hill while doing some "dozer" work. I still am amazed at how fast a crawler can accelerate down hill on frozen ground..with all tracks stoped.. Of course rubber tires without chains aren't much better.. Many newer urban drivers do use tractors for snowplowing so do be careful as once a slide starts it can be real tricky to get stoped.. harvey
