A hired hand was chopping sweet corn stubble in a hilly field with a Super M and bushog. Stopped at a ridge on a headland and walked into the fencerow for a moment of "personal relief". He left the tractor running, and didn't bother to set the brake since it was perched more or less level on the ridge. About 30 seconds after he dismounted, the rig began rolling downhill parallel to the fence row. About 1/2 way down the hill, the front wheels dropped into a chuck hole. The tractor executed a perfect 1-1/2 forward sommersault. Came to rest with it's wheels in the air, and the 'hog twisted almost beyond recogition behind it. I saw the end of the flip from the next field about 1/4 mile away. Didn't realize the the operator had not aboard until he came racing down the hill on foot with his pants still half down. Not sure which of us was more frightened... The Super M needed a new steering shaft, shaft support and wheel, battery and a drawbar. It was back at work only a few days later. The bushog however was destroyed. Lesson learned: Cut the front wheels, set the brake AND shut off the motor before dismounting.
