...Read a story a few years ago in "Progressive Farmer" about farm accidents. One of the stories which still stands out in my mind concerns a man who was bush-hogging down the edge of the lane going to his house. One of his kids was riding on the fender and, some how or another, the kid came off the tractor. Then under the back tire. Then under the running bush hog. The whole point of this gruesome story was that tractors have ONE seat for ONE operator. This principle holds true even for lawn tractors. I read another story of a grandfather riding his grandson on his lap on his lawnmower. The mower stalled going up a hill, wound up flipping and , I believe, killed the boy. Remember the Sergeant on "Hill Street Blues" who warned his men, "Hey, let's be careful out there!" Sounds like good advise to me.
