Last winter I was loading my tractor on a trailer. Had the dump truck parked in a driveway that was 1/4 mile long and had a fairly steep slope from a house to a state route. Drive was mostly tree lined and very narrow. Just before the road was a 8' wide, 6' deep ditch, and just a 10' wide concrete bridge. Used a 16' trailer with a mesh tail gate instead of my 21' trailer with ramps and ramp supports because it was the only trailer I could back into the drive. Parked the truck, set the parking brake, used 4"x4" to block the trailer wheels. Started up the mesh gate and transfered enough weight off the back of the truck to get the trailer skiing of my life. Came to my senses just before the truck went into the ditch and backed the tractor off the trailer to stop the rig. Will always block the back of the trailer fron now on, or figure out how to get the right trailer into the job site.
