I have a friend whose Farmall M will not start. He said it used to run fine, and then about 8 months ago it would not start anymore. It will not even offer to fire. It sets inside a dry barn all the time. He has since had the points, distributor cap, plug wires, and coil changed, and it still will not start. I am not sure the points are set right, but do not have the specs. The system is 12 volt, but I don't know if it should be negative ground or positive ground. The other day when we cranked it, the battery cables got very hot and it was negative ground. Any information (including the specs) you could give me will be appreciated. Thanks.
