The switch in the front chamber in the manifold is for the ignition. It is connected to the gas/diesel switch over lever and cuts off the ignition when in diesel mode. Also connected to the switch over lever system are butterflys in the manifold to shut off airflow through the carburetor when in diesel mode and a system to lock the carb float up to stop gas flow when in diesel. All this in addition to the decompression valves for lowering compression for gas operation.
