Help! Possible damage??? 6V system

Quick question about 6V positve ground systems...I have a 49' "C", just got a new head put back on the tractor & I had a "brain fart" & put the 6V battery back in w/ positve to starter & negative to chasis ground...the tractor started right up, but, now I'm wondering if I did any damage? The starter turned very slow, but it came right to life...my gages quit working, so I don't know if I was disscharging the battery or not...I am more consirned w/ any damage I might have done to the electrical components...the tractor was running for 1hr or so.
