ok heres the deal...i have a MD with a IH mag....the tractor was running on gas as i was letting it warm up to swicht to diesel..and then it died....i replaced the coil and condenser...still not enough spark....i took it off again...stuck in vise...then i put a varible speed drill with 11/16 socket and slowly ran it....as the rpm got up there.(much faster than engine turns over)...i could get a good arch with a screwdrive crossing out the tip on the coil...but when i run it slow...the spark is nearly non existent....and a curios thing ...when i have it on the tractor....and i am turing over the engine....if i hold a screwdriver by the side of the mag...where the wire comes down from the air intake manifold (shut off swicth)..and i get it to ark...then i can get the tractor to fire...i am assuming this is jumping the voltage to the point i am getting enough juice to spark the plugs.....so the question....what could have gone wrong with my mag....i would like to keep it oringinal.....thanks for any help
