a couple questions

Working on the SMTA today. Ran compression check, engine had run but not totally warmed up, could still handle spark plugs, throttle open. Showed 120 pounds all cylinders. Squirted a little oil in cylinder and got about 1 pound increase. Does that sound ok?
Next question is on steering. I have about 1/8 turn play in steering wheel. Get some wobble when going down the road. The steering gear moves up a bit before turning the shaft to the wheels. I can tighten the top nut and take that out. Is it gonna end up steering too hard if I do that?
