I've got a B-414 diesel that I've owned for several years. I bought it from the widow of the original owner after it had been parked for 15 years. We pulled it five feet to crank it after all that time. From the clutch housing back is the same as a 424, 354, etc. The parts manuals show the same part numbers for the housings. The man is right. the front ends are loose as a goose. It helps if you have a "wishbone" which is standard on the power steering models. I put a floor type starter button on mine for the glow plugs and it has never failed to crank. I also put LARGE battery cables on after I noticed how the originals jimped when I engaged the starter. That helped more than you can imagine.
