NC, You bring up an issue which has become a major pain in the south quarter for everyone tied to the 'net. I've been doing this online thing since the days of DOS and have watched it get steadily worse by the year. Unfortunately, the gleaners are going to be out there and there just is no way around it. They are like tics on a dog and it is left up to each one of us to fight this problem in our own way. It is not fair, but that is the way it is. Let me offer you this for what it is worth: A number of years ago, the wife and I set up an online corporation, which deals in the world of medicine. We are always connected to & do business with every corner of the globe 24/7. We constantly have 26 machines online at all times via 4 satellite uplinks & 5 ISP’s. These machines must 'never' go down and are constantly connected to very sensitive, time critical and highly confidential materials. Security is a huge issue with us; as we simply cannot "leak" nor can we be "down" because of these problematic Internet detriments. So far to date, I've found the best defense against spam and pop-ups are located at www.panicware.com These two little apps will cost $60 for both, but I've found nothing better, ever; they really work! Secondly, anti-virus software: Hands down the absolute best is located at: http://www.my-etrust.com I've tried 'em all and none can compare, even remotely, to this software at $25 a year. This software makes Norton and McAfee look like stark amateurs. Thirdly, if you are tied to the ‘net with an “always on” connection, a hardware firewall is an unconditional must. Just for what it is worth, Allan .

A Belt Pulley? Really Doing Something? - by Chris Pratt. Belt Pulleys! Most of us conjure up a picture of a massive thresher with a wide belt lazily arching to a tractor 35 feet away throwing a cloud of dust, straw and grain, and while nostalgic, not too practical a method of using our tractors. While this may have been the bread and butter of the belt work in the past (since this is what made the money on many farms), the smaller tasks may have been and still can be its real claim to fame. The thresher would bring in the harvest (and income) once a y
