I remember my dad buying a new John Deere plow in 1950, and it came with the trip rope bracket to bolt to the seat. (A green piece bolted to the seat pan on a Farmall H.) I also remember the snap ring that was sold for the rope in hardware store and machinery dealers. Most of all remeber that the ropes all had the light soft wires tied into the knot at the ends of ropes. Used to also be several different types of hitch releases too.
