I saw a picture not long ago of an IH1586 with front wheel drive. That wasn't a factory option if I remember correctly(someone please correct me if I'm wrong). I've heard of a company called Elwood that supplies these front ends. I wondered if anyone could share some details on this system. Was it a mechanical or hydraulic FWA? If it is mechanical, how does it tie in to the drivetrain? How reliable are these systems (what were some of the problems they experienced)? Are they still available? At this point I'm just curious to know any specifics. At some point in the future I plan to completely rebuild our farm's IH1086. If there is a reliable front wheel drive system for the 86 series, I might think about incorporating that system during the rebuild. I can't imagine that it wouldn't substantially extend the life of the rearend. Thanks a lot for any information, Chad

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
