I would not put a bunch of money into head work until I knew it was a gas head. It does not make sense for someone to put in domed pistons and use a low compression head, but I am sure it has been done. 65# of compression is kind of low - sounds like about 4:1. On the H's there are casting numbers on the head that indicates if it was kerosene, distillate, or gas. C's are probably the same. The casting numbers for C gas heads are 251172R or 351649R.
