I'm glad you found that piece of wood, and I was a little ashamed of myself again when I read your post. When I was about eight years old my dad used to let me drive our IH C, pulling a little wagon, to go camping. One day at the camp-site I got the bright idea to run a dead-dry stick in the gas tank to light and start the fire. You probably guessed it, part of it broke off. It caused all kinds of problems that fall when the C was on the grain auger. My point is, you never know what a fifty year old tractor has been through, including irresponsible eight-year-olds!
