If the magneto impulse is working it is really hard to get one to kick. Even with the spark lever wrong. The impulse has two purposes, one to retard the spark about 25* when starting and to make the armature in the Magneto spin fast to generate a hotter spark. And I just know everyone's impulse works like it should. I'm glad you know what you did wrong. It just can't be said often enough when dealing with things that crank, Only crank by pulling up from the 6 o'clock position to about the 10. Quarter turn cranks only. Yeah I know, I've cranked things the wrong way to but the times they kicked I was doing it right and only got the back of my RIGHT arm smacked when the crank came around. My Model T and A are the guilty parties to that. Get better fast !!!!!
