riverbend: Best way to make all row crop tractors safe as possible is rear wheel tread out to 72"+ centers. From there add ballast and add it low. Calcium chloride in tires will lower the center of graviety better than any other source of weight. Wheel weights will also help. A Farmall H needs all three of these items. If you allready have them fine, if you don't, install them you will be surprised how stable the H can be. We need you on forum as well so exercise care. I know there has been a lot of discussion on here about the damage chloride does to tractor rims. If your putting chloride in rear tires buy new tubes, with the threaded stems. At the first sign of leakage around the stems replace them. Rims we see rusted out from chloride have usually been parked in a shed for a number of years with slow leaks. If you have a flat and get chloride on a rim, wash it well before reinstalling tire and tube. Remember also most of those rusted out rims from chloride are 50 years old.
