Here in Central Indiana. We had an 806 Diesel w/all weather cab on our farm when I was growing up. Spent many hours running it. We used a JD 18' disk behind it and 5-16" plow. We had both a 6 row and an 8 row planter and a 13' grain drill. It did all this fine. Dad usually planted corn with the 8 row JD planter on the 806 and I ran the JD 3010 with the 6 row. We had a JD 55 combine with a 4 row corn head and a 13' bean table. We farmed around 150 acres at the time. We owned 50 and rented the rest. We never had any trouble with the 806 except it busted one of the cast hubs on the axle and that tire spun free with no pull. Had to limp it to the barn and dad had to get a new hub. It also threw out the drawbar pin on me once.. Not the pin that holds the implement to the drawbar.. The pin that holds the drawbar to the tractor. What a mess.. had just turned corner, dropped disk and whammo.. hydraulic fluid all over the back of the tractor.. an man did she just take off on speed too...Was running in 3 or 4th with the torque on high. It was a great tractor.. Phil

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
