Fellas, the shutters were for more than a quick warm up, distilate tractors had to run hotter and the shutters were closed off until you ran in the high end of "RUN" on your guage. The distilate tractors also had a shield that fit over the manifold and a damper in the manifold so the fuel was vapour by the time it was going to the cylinders. Shutters are not a bad idea for cold weather either. I have an H and an M with shutters in good working condition, both were distilate tractors. Mike in Exeter Ontario
