The rear frame deck lid of the 400 will have four threaded 5/8" holes at the left rear corner. The rock shaft for the fast hitch attaches there. There will also be two openings for the gear shift lever and one will be covered with a plate. The three holes for the base of the steering shaft upright are missing. The deck is several inches wider on the 400. Having said all that, I put a 400 lid on a SMTA so that a fast hitch would fit using IH parts. Nobody has ever made a comment about it.
