I have a Farmall 350 and I have been working on installing an external coolant heater to it. I started by trying to remove the drain plug located behind the carburetor. My particular set up had a brass 45 degree street elbow coming out of the engine block and a steel plug in the end of the elbow. In the process of removing the plug from the brass elbow I broke the brass elbow off at the engine block, leaving about a ½” of threads inside the block. I found an Easy Out that would fit the ID on the broken fitting and attempted to use it to remove it. My problem is that it just kept going in until the circular boss that holds the fitting cracked. Now, I’m not sure what to do. First off all, what did I do wrong with the Easy Out? It sure wasn’t that easy. Secondly, and more importantly, what can I do now to fix my predicament? As always, thanks in advance, Andy
