I would think an AV would be worth a good spray job. It doesn't have to be an outlandishly expensive pro job. Do you know anyone with equipment that could do it? Or maybe you could buy or rent the equipment to do it yourself?
You'd be money ahead over a pro spray job and it will look fine. If you've got a lot of work in it and all cleaned up why would you butcher it with a brush job? Other opinions may vary.
