Randy, All of the 100,200, 300, 400, 600, came from the factopry with red grill inserts, and red side panels. When the next series came out with the white inserts and panels, a lot of owners of the 00 series thought that the white contrast was the greatest thing since canned beer and rain. After that it was common that a lot of 00's started popping up with white inserts and side panels. The dealers were glad to oblige if the owner had his tractor in for service to sell him the "paint upgrade" It didnt do anything for the tractor itself except make it look like that newer 450 that the neighbor just had delivered. YOu hit the nail on the head.....It was all owner created.
