The advantages of the low profile are many. In hilly country or on a bank the machine is extremely stable with its center of gravity so low. Around low branches or overhanging plants the height is not much different than that of a riding lawn mower and there is ample space to permit ducking as low as the top of the steering wheel. The design permits easier access for mounting and dismounting. The exhaust is run out the back and the tractor is as quite as a car and the heat and exhaust gases are not bothersome. The discharge from the mower is such that the clippings and dust are not being carried around or blown on the operator. Certainly some of these features would exist in other tractors but there would also be trade offs. As I have previously stated "if the lo boy had more power it would be the best tractor I have ever mowed with". PS... I have owned or mowed with a G AC, a Ford with a rear Woods, an I H with a flail, a commercial Toro with a front mount, a zero turn , an I H 140 with a deck, a twin cylinder MTD, a Ford with a trail deck and without a doubt the finish and the enjoyment were the best with the Cub lo-boy (mine is not a 154)
