Hugh, I checked the operators manual for a B farmall and it says to fill it in the horizontal position and put the screw back in. I checked the operator's manuals on my 140 and on my C and it says to turn it to the bottom and drain off the excess as you said. You are correct. I grew up with a B and filled it half full for years so that was my first thought. Apparantly they changhed their directions somewhere along the way. Where are you located? I am fairly new to the forum and enjoy it a lot. Thank you for replying.
