If it is a 1948, it should have the 11 inch diameter clutch and you don't have to split to rework the clutch. It the flywheel needs work, you have to split it. I have a write up on how to do it based on my experience doing it a couple years back. For a first timer, definitely more than a 2 hour job. Send it to you if you will post your E mail.
