I think most politicians start out trying to do the right thing, the thing they said they would do. Somewhere in the system they relize that there is more profit in doing what is wanted by the money interests. They have to satisfy the reight people to get re elected. I think part of the cost in local government has come about through the courts. In the old days you could build a road and people drove on it. Now it has to be built just so or some guy will drive off of it and sue the county,state, city involved, and they will win. So we pay all that liability. People aren't supposed to have to think about what they do or take any responsibility for anything they do, there is always someone else to blame.
