In my area every year or so some Dumb*** in the local government says "Hey would everybody like to have a nice big new Library or skateboard park" and the citizens are stupid enough to think that it will be free. The only way to get good politicians it seems is to watch them like a hawk, dont allow new projects that eat tax dollars and dont allow them to build new firestations, librarys, bikepaths, and to only allow them to be voted in one time.
