Of course some of the more recent IH's with 3-pts, wide fronts, diesel engines & more tire and weight are better, but a favorite over the many years is the old 460. Smooth, quiet, vibration free, well-balanced, quick and a miser on fuel. Ran that 460 for years. It was the main horse in 60's & early 70's. It did everything well. I've run the haybine with half dozen tractors but none could make an effortless square corner all day long like the old 460. Had it 31 years before torque started to slip a bit. Used it hard-but didn't abuse it. Will buy another 460 someday. By the way, have had or still have a dozen reds and six others. Favorite now - a 16 speed 826.
