I agree about the KB-8 or larger, a fine looking rig if you can find a low profile Hobbs trailer. A short wheelbase L series set up with a 5th wheel would get you down the road a tiny bit quicker, but never more than 55mph. You would need a lot travel time to get to Red Power Roundup! Speed limits in 1949 were 50 mph.
