The 544 was built as a Farmall 544 (row crop) gear or hydrostatic drive, International 544 (utility) (gear or hydrostatic drive) and International 2544 (industrial)(gear drive, hydrostatic drive, or shuttle transmission). The International 2544 was the same basic configuration as the International 544 except it had a different standard front axle (the front axle like your International 544 utility was optional) and a different grille. Some other standard items were different between the I-2544, and the I-544 including tire types and sizes, but a I-2544 could be ordered with options to make it basicly the same as the I-544 utility. The International 544 was also available as a International 544 Row Crop which was the utility configuration with the Farmall type rear axles and wheels and a taller utility front axle. These options were not available on the International 2544 therefore the International 2544 could not be ordered as a row crop tractor. I don't know where you can find the price differences. Harold H
