Hi folks, my father and I are putting the finishing touches on a '49 Cub. The Generator we have may not have been the original, but we think it is 6 volt unit. I just wanted to ask if one of you guys could say for sure. It is a Delco Remy model no. 1109603 serial no.8m8. This tractor was left out doors for many years, but has very few hours on it. the sheet metal is great. We had to put intake valve inserts due to pitting from rain water coollected in the head. The rest of the engine was like new. We had to buy a few parts, such as muffler, seat, headlights, decals, etc. But we only payed $300.00 for it. After a full restoration I think we got a good deal. Now it joins a 1953 JD 40C and a 1953 Golden Jubilee. all fully restored. I realy love the little Cub. Thanks, TimT

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
