Sounds legit to me. The scam is to send a counterfeit check for more than the amount and then he will have an emergency and need the extra money wired to him for medical emergency ,meanwhile the check gets mailed here and there and never gets cashed and you are out the money you wired to the scammer.
Just hold the item till the check clears,then your @ss is completly covered.
