Fenders- the 706 and 806 had small clamshell fenders from 1963 to early 1965. When the 1206 came out in 1965, they went to the flat-top fender. Wheatland tractors always had great big rounded fenders that extended way out over the tire. Engines- From 1963 to November 1966, the 706 had the C-263 gas engine and the D-282 diesel, both built by IH here in the U.S. From November 1966, the 706 had the C-291 gas, which was just a bored-out C-263, and the D-310 diesel, built by IH at their plant in Germany. Cabs- IH did offer factory-installed cabs on the 06, 26, 56, and 66 series, but they were built by other companies. IH started building their own cabs during the 66 series.
