Eric: I am a poor one to ask about loader tractors and yard tractors. In 1972 I bought a Case 1737 Uniloader, three years later I bought a second Case 1737 Uniloader. Within a year the 2000 loader was removed from my tractor, packed away in shed and never used again Skid loaders did all my loader work on a 500 acre 100 cow dairy farm. I put a 1,000 hours per year on each of those little loaders, on manure, silage and round bales. I had a gas 300 that never left yard much. With this setup my tractors were always free for field work. When I bought these loaders new a new 656 or 666 was close to twice as much money as the skidloader. When you think about the cost of a tractor by component, a draft controled 3 point hitch and an Independant PTO are a lot of equipment sitting around doing nothing. In a livestock operation the machine that is hardly ever out of yard is toast in ten years from manure, cows, etc., may as well keep it cheap.
