Thanks, ltf, for the vote of confidence in converting to an alternator system. Some of the posts here were causing me to second guess my decision to do so. I had read the article posted here in Sept (and I assume is now in the archives) on converting to the GM 10-SI(?) alternator and directed the mechanic that is readying my recently purchased IH350U for me to come and get it. It will be a working tractor, but at the same time, I didn't want to ruin its value with a cobbled up change over. I have asked the mechanic to save the old parts for me, hope it won't be a major problem to change back, should I ever decide to do so.
